My paintings are rooted in a deep concern with the increasingly destructive force of meteorological events. Storms, with their shifting energies and unpredictable power, form the central inspiration for my work. Through the physicality of mark-making and the movement of paint across the surface, I attempt to translate what I witness into a visual language that captures both turbulence and flow. Strong, vibrant colours play a crucial role, emphasising the intensity of weather systems as they sweep across landscapes – whether rural expanses, coastal edges, or densely built urban environments.
Although I now live in the UK, my practice has been shaped by extended periods in Malaysia, Egypt and Turkey. These diverse landscapes and climates have broadened my perspective, reinforcing my awareness of climate change as a shared global reality. My work reflects not only on the raw power of weather, but also on the fragility of human and natural environments exposed to its impact.
As a multi-disciplinary artist, I use various mediums in my practice including acrylic, installation, performance and artists’ books. I have work in private and university collections.
